What is single ply?

Freedom of form - Single ply technology offers maximum freedom of choice in roof design, performance and appearance to suit new construction and refurbishment.

Complete roof system - Single ply membranes are strong, flexible sheets composed predominately of synthetic polymer. They are sealed at joints to form continuous waterproofing. When combined with insulation and continuous support they form complete, durable roof systems.

Durable - All members’ products are independently certificated for a durability in the range 25-30 years. There are examples in Europe in excess of 40 years; in the UK our earliest roofs will soon be 25 years old.

Performance - All single polymeric materials offered by SPRA members are resistant to weathering, chemical oxidation and UV radiation. They require no additional surface protection unless used for access. Careful formulation ensures that physical properties are retained over a temperature range exceeding –30 to +80 degrees centigrade to suit the variable climate typical of the United Kingdom.
