Government has announced aban on the use of combustible materials on external walls of new buildings over 18 metreswhich contain sleeping accommodation, as well as schools over 18 metres which are built as part of the Government’s centrally delivered build programmes. This will include balconies and buildings that undergo a change of use or material alterations to the building. The ban will come into force from Friday 21 December and the Final Impact Assessmentcontains further information.
