HSE recently investigated a serious outbreak of COVID‐19 on a construction site and, after finding everyone on site was following the robust processes in place, the investigation concluded that the main reasons for the outbreak were likely to be poor practices outside of working hours, including socialising and travelling to work. As well as implementing the Site Operating Procedures, construction sites are urged to remind the workforce of the importance of travelling to work safely and social distancing outside of work to protect themselves and others.
