There was a real buzz in the air at the 2017 SPRA Conference and Awards! Held at Eastwood Hall, Notts, over 150 SPRA members, guests and other industry representatives got together to network, share knowledge, expertise and information and to learn about new SPRA initiatives that had been developed over the last 12 months. Acknowledged by all as a worthwhile and important event, it was a full-on day. The SPRA Technical Committee was in session in the morning, and parallel workshops on training, funding and social media skills were on offer. Lots of noisy networking took place over lunch, where sponsors were able to promote their own offer and do business. The main conference was opened by Sarah Beale, CEO of the CITB, and she was followed by panel debates and presentations on design, BIM, training and skills. Cathie Clarke and Jim Hooker also took to the stage to present the new SPRA website and online Training & Assessment tool. After a full day of hard work, everyone enjoyed a well-earned break with drinks in the bar followed by the conference dinner and presentation of the 2017 SPRA Awards.
So now we are looking forward to 2018 and are inviting sponsorship so that we can equal or even improve upon this year’s event!
Testimonial: “I thought the SPRA conference was an excellent event, where it was great to see the skills agenda and quality being discussed as key considerations. I actually gained a good insight into the world from a manufacturer, as well as contractor perspective, which was really interesting.” Sarah Beale, Interim CEO, CITB – Keynote Speaker at the SPRA Conference 2017
