Introduction
The information in our Weekly News this week is again focussed on Covid-19 issues as well items relating to the end of the transition period regarding Brexit. These items are dominating the flow of information coming from government with the major construction industry bodies providing further input where necessary.
In the General Area this week we draw attention to the publication by the Competency Steering Group (CSG) of the ‘Setting the Bar’ report. This is an extremely important document that will have impact across the whole of the construction industry and I encourage all to take the time to consult it.
Covid-19 and the issue of face coverings in canteens is again highlighted in the General Area this week following with further information provided by Build UK and the CLC.
In our SPRA Members Area this week a flowchart produced by Build UK is highlighted concerning what to do if a worker has Covid-19.
Government guidance for employers to check whether they are eligible to claim the Job Retention Bonus is also featured, as well as information concerning the 2020 Levy Return.
In our Members Area, we draw attention again to members on a helpful feature concerning a ‘Checklist and actions’ changes for business after the end of the transition period.
Also, regarding Brexit, the final feature for members this week again relates to a webinar being run by the CPA on 15th October 2020, relating to the key issues that remain unresolved and of major concern for construction product manufacturers and suppliers. Registration information is provided for this webinar.
As always we wish all SPRA members a safe and successful week.
