The SPRA AGM 2021 will take place this year on Thursday 23rd September 2021 at 10.00am as a virtual meeting on the Zoom platform. An invite will be sent to all members who confirm their wish to attend the AGM by replying to membership@spra.co.uk. Please ensure you confirm your attendance by 5pm on Monday 20th September 2021
Also a reminder this week for those attending the RCI show on the 29th/30th September at MK Dons Stadium in Milton Keynes. SPRA will have a stand for all to attend and Nigel Blacklock, Chair of the SPRA Technical Committee, will be giving a presentation on Thursday 30th September at the event.
On the training front our Wind Load Calculation Protocol (WLPC) sessions are starting again this month. The dates are given in the item below. There are still a couple of places available. Please ensure you read our item in the General Area concerning this as these are open both to members and non-members of SPRA.
Training relating to SAP, SUP and OSAT opportunities and assessment is also covered in more detail in our Members Area.
Ongoing items this week, that you may have missed in our Members Area previously, include a reminder again on the consultation on proposals for the new Building Safety Levy, which is expected to come into force in 2023, access to the results of the recent consultation on the CCPI. There is also information concerning the date for ending recognition of the CE mark in Great Britain and how to obtain a copy of the CPA Construction Trade Survey 2021 Q2.
New items this week include information from Build UK and CSCS on recruitment and retention of the next generation and the launch by CSCS on the new Industry Placement Card. Also, BSI have released for public comment a draft PAS 7050 – Bringing safe products to the market – Code of Practice. This is out now and there is information below regarding how to obtain a copy of this PAS draft.
