Introduction
With just a couple of weeks to go before Christmas there is still plenty of information coming in from various sources relating to the construction industry and again principally associated with the Coronavirus pandemic and the end of the Brexit transition period on 31st December 2020.
The items covered this week relate to the Job Retention Scheme and monthly deadlines for making claims. Also covered is information on face coverings on construction sites.
In the Members Area this week we provide information from industry and government sources relating to a couple of important forthcoming webinars hosted by the HSE and DEFRA in connection with changing requirements on regulating chemicals from 1st January 2021. There is also information concerning climate change and an announcement by the Prime Minister on a new national emissions target. In this section of the Weekly News there is also an item relating to a CITB survey (deadline soon) on mental health in the construction industry.
Again we remind you of current SPRA issues including the wind loading calculation protocol (WLCP) sessions being run and how you can register for these, as well as the necessity for SPRA members to ensure they complete their annual audit online. Please ensure these are definitely completed by year end.
As always, I hope you find the enclosed helpful and wish all SPRA members a safe and successful week ahead.
