As reported recently the SPRA AGM 2021 will take place this month on Thursday 23rd September 2021 at 10.00am as a virtual meeting on the Zoom platform. An invite will be sent to all members who confirm their wish to attend the AGM by replying to membership@spra.co.uk. Please ensure you confirm your attendance by 5pm on Monday 20th September 2021
Also a reminder this week for those attending the RCI show on the 29th/30th September at MK Dons Stadium in Milton Keynes. SPRA will have a stand for all to attend to discuss any SPRA related issues and also membership for those wishing to join the association. Nigel Blacklock, Chair of the SPRA Technical Committee, will be giving a presentation on Thursday 30th September at the event.
On the training front our Wind Load Calculation Protocol (WLPC) sessions are starting again. The dates of the next set of sessions have had to be modified and are given in the item below. There are still a couple of places available. Please ensure you read our item in the General Area concerning this as these are open both to members and non-members of SPRA.
Training relating to SAP, SUP and OSAT opportunities and assessment is also covered in more detail in our Members Area.
There are several new items this week and these include information from Build UK regarding taking on an apprentice incentive (end of month closing date) and a new item on industry support for the construction levy. Build UK also report on construction activity this week and provide information on published videos to help SMEs protect themselves against cyber‐attacks.
New items from the CPA to be aware of this week include information on evidence given by the CPA to the House of Commons Building Safety Bill Committee, the recently published Regional Construction Hotspots in Great Britain 2021 report and the CPA view on the extension to the deadline for obtaining the CA Mark. There is also an opportunity to register for a webinar entitled ‘Update to CA Marking’ given by the CPA.
