Introduction
A warm welcome this week to all SPRA members and readers of the SPRA Weekly news. This week’s news is dominated with issues related to training as a number of recent announcements have been made by government and industry bodies on this vital aspect of the construction industry.
Much of it relates to schemes that incentivise employers to consider apprenticeship training and there are a couple of specifically SPRA related articles in this week’s news. We encourage all to read all the information provided here as there is certain to be something that will help your business and provide the necessary opportunity to develop much needed skills necessary for the future. Please note there are a number of items that are deadline related so action may be needed immediately.
We are now making a push for our members to get applications in for our upcoming SPRA virtual Conference and Awards 2021 in June when we will showcase work not only from 2020 but also from 2019. So a great opportunity to have your superb single ply roofing projects recognised in the wider construction industry. Ensure you read the information provided in this week’s news and get those applications in.
There is again information on the CCPI construction product consultation being run by the CPA and an updated materials supply report provided by Build UK and CIPS in our Members Area.
Finally, for members there is very useful information from the UK Government on Business Support & Trading Support Helplines and an open letter from the Scottish Government to the Scottish construction industry relating to Covid-19.
We wish all well and hope you have a safe and productive week.
