Welcome again this week to all SPRA members and readers of the SPRA Weekly News.
The SPRA Autumn Series continued this week with a joint SPRA/LRWA Workshop on the CCPI. This event again was very well attended and followed the SPRA Technical Panel Discussion of last week. The CCPI Workshop gave background to the new Code for Construction Product Information as well as examples regarding why such a code is necessary. Attendees were taken through the 11 clauses of the code in detail and questions answered on the day.
Both, last week’s Technical Panel Discussion with the BBA and CPA on important current issues including CCPI, Lexicon, Certification and Building Safety and this week’s separate CCPI Workshop, are now available for SPRA members to view again on the SPRA website . We urge all our members to take the time to view these important recordings.
The SPRA Autumn Series continues next week on 2nd of December with a ‘Lunch and Learn’ session on sustainability by the SPRA Sustainability Group (SSG). It’s all freely available to join online, so see our information below and please ensure you and your colleagues register to book a place at this event. Only those registered will receive the invitation to join online.
Please note! If you are a SPRA member please ensure you have access to our dedicated ‘Members Area’ which has additional items of interest to those involved in all aspects of single ply roofing.
Our Members Area also covers training and assessment relating to SAP, SUP and OSAT and we encourage all wishing to develop their employees’ skills and qualifications in single ply roofing to contact SPRA. Please note we have some places available for participants on a new SAP 12 starting before the end of this year. Ensure you read our updated training webpage concerning the SAP programme for SPRA members. Also, we now have dates for the next SPRA Wind Loading Calculation Protocol (WLCP 5) sessions. Due to demand we will also run a new WLCP 6 in February. Look out for dates coming soon. Register your interest below.
As highlighted last week dates are now available for the Mental Health – First Aider Course being organised by SPRA and run in association with the Lighthouse Club charity. Please see below and again register your interest.
For members this week, we have a summary concerning COP 26 and the construction industry, provided by Build UK. Also there is information from the CPA concerning the launch of BSI Indentify with some thoughts on the launch from Peter Caplehorn. As always, we provide the latest update from Prof. Nobel Francis on UK Economy and Construction.
We have information in this week’s news concerning building safety and the BSI consultation on the Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 8672 and finally we remind all regarding the CLC People Survey and how you can respond below.
As always, hope you find the enclosed interesting and informative.
