I hope this week for SPRA members is going well. It has been a busy one so far as the SPRA Technical Committee met for the first time on a digital virtual platform. It was, as always, very well attended with over 30 attendees. Many thanks to all who participated in the meeting. If there are any issues you would wish to highlight for discussion at the next meeting (20th October 2020): please call or send me an email.
A number of items to draw to your attention from an industry perspective this week including: information from the HSE regarding the recently published draft Building Safety Bill, the CLC call to the government regarding Brexit, government guidance concerning construction working hours and more information on the recently launched Construction Talent Retention Scheme. We also have received a letter from Bill Hill of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity.
In the Members’ Area this week there is reference to the government’s Brexit transition information as well as a call from the CPA asking for any information on redundancies in the construction product supply chain. We highlight again to members that Friday this week at 5pm is the deadline for nominations for SPRA elections.
Wishing all SPRA members a safe and successful week.
