We are in the middle of my first week having taken over from Cathie. What an act to follow. Not only has Cathie been an exceptional asset to SPRA over the last 5 years but also, she really has been a pleasure to work with. So, a huge thanks Cathie from all the SPRA team! We are delighted that Cathie will continue to work as a consultant for SPRA and her support to me will be invaluable.
Moving forward as always brings new challenges for us all. We want to continue to develop the SPRA community, this has really taken shape in recent years, and also support our members and their interests as we all deal with society and
industry changes.
Despite the current difficult climate that our members are experiencing we must assist them in navigating a way forward and represent all in key construction and government forums. Our values concerning educating, influencing and supporting in the single ply industry have real meaning and keep us focussed on the job in hand.
I’d like to assure our members of my willingness to work on your behalf in the knowledge that I have tremendous support from Martyn Holloway (SPRA Chair) and the rest of the SPRA Council, as well as the SPRA Team: Sheryle, Liz , Lisa and indeed Cathie.
To matters this week in our Update: these include a major announcement on funding by the UK government concerning the schools rebuilding programme as well as some important training information from the CITB.
SPRA members will have further access to information on issues concerning CIWEM and a request for training information; and also a statement from the Welsh Government concerning the Building Safety Position giving the opportunity to have input to two questions posed.
Always up for a call for a call to discuss any issues you may have.
Kind regards
