This year’s SPRA Conference and Awards will be held on 16th June as a virtual event for the first time. We decided that our industry sector needed to meet albeit in a virtual environment to ensure that the issues of the time are discussed openly by bringing together key industry figures and agencies to engage with SPRA members.
This will be a SPRA event like no other and the themes this year centre on current industry issues associated with certification, industry sector guidance, digitalisation and metal health to name a few. We have a whole host of leading industry figures speaking and participating in our panel discussion as well as a chance for you to engage with associated questions. There will even be a chance to interact and network with other members as we have chosen a very capable virtual hosting platform to promote engagement.
More details to follow in the coming weeks so keep reading the SPRA Weekly News and visit our website for further information as it is released.
A hugely important aspect of the event will be to host the SPRA Awards also postponed from last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The SPRA Awards are such an important focal point for all that is great about our industry sector and showcase the capabilities of our manufacturers’ products and systems as well as and the specialist skills of our installing SPRA contractor members. This year’s SPRA Awards event will now showcase and award projects completed in 2019 only and this will happen at key points during the Conference, so ensure you plan to attend for the whole event. The decision to focus on projects completed in 2019 has only recently been taken in light of difficulty for some members to bring together project applications for both 2019 and 2020, as originally advertised. Any applications already received by SPRA for 2020 completed projects, will now be carried forward to an event next year which may possibly be a live event depending on restrictions on gatherings at the time. We hope that by awarding projects completed in 2019 only, this will allow all involved in making a submission more time to submit an application. With this in mind we will extend the deadline for applications Monday May 24th; so get those 2019 projects in!
For this year’s SPRA Conference and Awards we will be releasing registration information for the event next week but ensure you mark Wednesday 16th June in your diary.
