At the SPRA Council meeting held on the 22nd March 2018, Council members agreed to support the Retentions Bill which would hold retentions in trust so that if a main contractor goes bust the money is not lost, as it was with Carillion.
The campaign is being coordinated by SEC Group and BESA, has the support of the majority of Build UK Trade Associations and SPRA is the 71st organisation to offer support on behalf of its members. There is a real opportunity for progress here and through SPRA, BESA is asking individual members to write to their MPs.
