ASSISTANT STUDIO MANAGER : FACILITIES + OPERATIONS

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm)

COMPENSATION: $22-25 per hour (based on experience)

Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn

The Canopy NYC is hiring a full-time Assistant Studio Manager (ASM): Facilities + Operations to join our leadership team at our community play space and parent club in Williamsburg. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and loves making sure a space looks beautiful, runs smoothly, and feels welcoming for every family who walks through the door.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As Assistant Studio Manager: Facilities + Operations , you’ll be responsible for supporting the daily functioning, appearance, and backend organization of The Canopy studio. You’ll work closely with the Studio Manager and fellow Assistant Manager (Programs + Events) to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Daily Responsibilities

• Complete daily opening walkthroughs to ensure the space is guest-ready

• Maintain cleaning supply inventory , place weekly orders, and stock storage areas

• Manage cleaning staff , checklists, and quality control standards

• Restock snacks, paper goods, and classroom/kitchen materials as needed

• Perform minor fixes/repairs and coordinate with vendors for larger issues

• Reset studio layout and signage for different class blocks and events

• Organize deliveries and assist with vendor drop-offs and pickups

• Maintain visual and functional standards in all areas: play space, classroom, reception, kitchen, bathrooms, quiet room

Weekly Responsibilities

• Oversee Monday morning team setup (inventory, deep clean planning, studio reset)

• Lead weekly facilities audits and report on maintenance needs

• Schedule and manage weekly deep cleaning projects (e.g., toy sanitizing, windows, rug vacuuming, furniture wipes)

• Track and label lost and found items weekly

• Maintain organized storage systems (supplies, decor, cleaning, lost and found)

• Coordinate with Programs + Events Manager for any space prep or supply needs

Team + Communication

• Report directly to the Studio Manager and COO with weekly check-ins

• Communicate clearly with front desk staff about maintenance issues or studio setup notes

• Share updates about repairs, ordering needs, and operational feedback proactively

• Collaborate with the Assistant Studio Manager: Programs + Events to align on daily logistics
