Certified OEM IT Equipment Technician

6 Month contract to hire (Likely to extend or convert)

Fully onsite in New York, New York

Part time hours to start, 3-4 days a week, will transition into full time hours.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly capable Certified OEM IT Equipment Technician to perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of branded computer hardware, servers, and peripheral devices from leading OEMs such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple, and others. The ideal candidate will have OEM-specific certifications and hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving hardware issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair hardware issues on OEM equipment including laptops, desktops, servers, storage devices, and peripherals from brands like Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Apple.
• Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and component replacements in line with OEM specifications.
• Use OEM diagnostics tools and software to identify faults and configure hardware accordingly.
• Interpret OEM manuals, technical documentation, and fault codes to troubleshoot problems effectively.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients or internal teams regarding hardware issues and best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service activities.
• Ensure all repair and maintenance activities comply with OEM guidelines and safety standards.
• Assist with hardware installations, upgrades, and system configurations.
• Keep updated with OEM certifications, training, and new product releases to maintain technical expertise.

Qualifications

• OEM Certification: Valid certifications from OEMs such as Dell Certified Technician, HP Accredited Service Technician, Lenovo Certified Technician, or Apple Certified Technician.
• What’s expected is, an OEM certification that allows them to repair the OEM device without voiding the warranty.
