If you're ready to work on our planes, join our Tech Ops experts and help keep our fleet in tip-top shape. **Key Responsibilites:** As a **Manager - FAA Liaison** , you will play a critical role in supporting United's regulatory compliance, leading investigations, and serving as the primary point of contact with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This highly visible position requires strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to guide teams through complex regulatory matters. Your responsibilities with include, but are not limited to: **Lead Regulatory Investigations & Compliance Work** · Oversee investigations into potential non-compliance related to operational issues. · Identify areas requiring corrective action and ensure solutions are implemented, verified, and sustained. · Manage United's FAA Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program (VDRP) and Letters of Investigation (LOI) processes. · Coordinate responses to FAA regulatory findings and track all company-committed corrective actions. **Act as United's Primary FAA Liaison** · Represent the company with FAA officials and other government agencies. · Serve as an internal consultant on regulatory requirements, quality assurance matters, and compliance policies across multiple departments. · Lead the development and submission of official FAA documentation and voluntary disclosures for United Services. **Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team** · Provide direction, mentorship, and support to a team of investigators. · Ensure workloads, responsibilities, and professional development goals are met. Note: This is a remote position with a 40% travel requirement. While the role is fully remote, we prefer candidates based near one of our hub locations: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Newark, or Washington D.C. (IAD) **Qualifications** **What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):** · Bachelor's degree in a technical, safety, or aviation field **or** equivalent experience. · FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate **or** extensive aircraft maintenance/inspection experience. · Strong knowledge of relevant **Federal Aviation Regulations** , company manuals, maintenance programs, and UA policies. · At least **10 years of experience** in aircraft maintenance, inspection, engineering, or quality assurance with demonstrated leadership achievements. · Proven success working directly with the FAA. · Excellent communication skills-written, verbal, and presentation. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn company digital platforms. · Demonstrated excellence in maintenance surveillance, analysis, and compliance programs. · Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. · Reliable, punctual attendance and successful completion of interview requirements. **What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):** · FAA Commercial Pilot License, Airframe, Powerplant, or additional relevant certifications (e.g., C.A.S.E. audit certification). · Experience conducting internal or external (vendor) audits in an air carrier environment. · Managerial experience and familiarity with industry quality systems and certifications. The base pay range for this role is $109,820.00 to $142,936.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
