Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified part-time Nutritionist in Somerville, NJ.  This position is for a Registered Dietitian who has expertise in diabetes, nutrition and diabetes self-management education. 

Qualifications:

Required:

• Registered dietitian who has expertise in diabetes, nutrition and diabetes self-management education. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point

Preferred:

• Diabetes education experience preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• RD, CDE or CDE eligible  
• Licenses/Registrations/Certifications as applicable

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift, 24 hours/week 
• Part Time Schedule

Essential Functions:

• Assess patient/family nutritional and educational needs and learning abilities to maximize diabetes self-management skills
• Determines educational level and teaching material needs of individuals to appropriately develop educational plan
• Facilitates education of individual and groups with appropriate level to meet those in attendance
• Collaborates with the nursing staff and all members of the health care team in providing optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in diabetes through direct patient care activities.
