Job Description

Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a Part-Time Benefits Coordinator for a leading statewide association dedicated to providing on-site technical assistance and specialized training for rural water and wastewater systems. This growing organization offers opportunities to contribute across various areas that support compliance with best business practices at both the state and federal levels. The selected candidate will work out of the Sacramento office in California.

Responsibilities

The Benefits Coordinator will assist with tasks including, but not limited to, support for training programs, onboarding, benefits coordination, workers' compensation claims, and other duties as assigned by management. This role may receive direction from multiple staff members, including the Executive Director, Controller, and other managers, but will ultimately report to the Deputy Director.

Safety Training Coordination

  • Assign monthly safety courses via the Vector system.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Director to ensure course topics align with job-specific risks.
  • Monitor course completion and report delays or issues.

Onboarding Support

  • Assist with onboarding paperwork for new hires.
  • Consult with the Controller or Deputy Director for unfamiliar areas.
  • Support expedited onboarding as directed by the Executive Director.

Benefits Coordination

  • Assist with medical benefits enrollment and ongoing benefit-related processes.
  • Review and audit benefit invoices and bills.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Controller.

Workers' Compensation Assistance

  • Work with Risk Management and Insurance to process and manage claims.
  • Escalate concerns to the Deputy Director as needed.

Additional Duties

  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Controller and Deputy Director to support organizational needs.

Required Work Hours

The position requires availability from Monday to Friday during standard office hours.

Benefits

The role offers a competitive pay range of $28 to $33 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
