Job Description

Title: Programs & Events Manager

Position Salary: $55,000-60,000 per year

Position Summary

Programs & Events Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and execution of internal programs and events within the OKC Innovation District organization. This role leads planning efforts, engages stakeholders, manages budgets, and supports strategic initiatives in key areas such as aerospace, bioscience, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. The Programs & Events Manager also collaborates on outreach, marketing, and STEM initiatives to advance the district’s mission and impact.

Essential Job Duties

  • Plan, coordinate and execute existing OKC Innovation District signature programs and events.
  • With oversight from VP of Programs & Outreach, produce & execute new programs and events (or partnerships), as needed, to support and enhance the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Hospitality & Events Manager to serve as on-site staff member during internal and external events held after business hours at Innovation Hall.
  • Support the Hospitality & Events Manager by assisting with preparing, setting up and tearing down external events/meetings at Innovation Hall and OKCID events.
  • Engage and manage stakeholders to serve on committees to advise and assist in program development.
  • Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage a budget and operating plan for each program/initiative.
  • Collaborate with the Hospitality & Event Manager to collect and report OKCID Program & Event KPI’s.
  • Support the STEAM initiatives of the OKC Innovation District and BioTC.
  • Adhere to the overall district vision/mission and troubleshoots day-to-day issues of team.
  • Build relationships with Innovation District assets, community members and potential programming/funding partners.
  • Support development of outreach strategy in partnership with VP of Programs & Outreach, CEO and other staff.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop, review and approve marketing materials for OKCID programs & activities.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with typical working hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with business needs. Exempt employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require, evenings, Saturday or Sundays if necessary.

Required Minimum Job Qualifications, Experience, Education and Training

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.

Experience: 3+ years’ experience in program management, event coordination, community engagement, or a related field.

Preferred Job Qualifications, Experience, Education and Training

Education: Master’s degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field.

Experience: Background working within city districts, economic development organizations, or STEM-related initiatives.
