Wind loading protocol for calculations sessions

SPRA now offers online wind load calculation training. These sessions are based on the SPRA guidance document Wind Loading – Protocol for calculations (S11b/19) with extensive reference to the appropriate standards and other industry guidance that underpin this document.
Course background
It is necessary to develop competence in the single ply sector to achieve consistent accurate results in wind load calculation. The WLCP course supports SPRA’s publication S11b/19 released towards the end of 2019. This course is for both SPRA members and non-SPRA members, as information is relevant to all in flat roofing who access wind loading.
Course structure: 3 x 2 hour sessions, with a final session including recap and assessment.
Places available: 6 on any one session with a maximum of 2 per company at any one session.
Course materials: Access to relevant standards as required. Access to wind loading software suitable for use in flat and pitched applications complying with BS EN 1991-1-4:2005+A1:2010 and supplemented with the UK National Annex (NA) incorporating National Amendment A1 dated January 2011.
Participant requirements: Experience and knowledge of calculation procedure and trained in the use of appropriate calculation software. Participant suitably indemnified against error.
