Job Description
American Honda Finance Corporation (dba Honda Financial Services and Acura Financial Services), a wholly owned subsidiary of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., helps to satisfy the financing needs of consumers of Honda and Acura vehicles, Honda and Acura accessories, as well as Honda motorcycles, power equipment, and marine products. AHFC offers financing in the form of both retail installment sales contracts and leases, depending on the product and the needs of the customer.
The Credit Buyer is responsible for approving or denying credit applications, following purchase policy guidelines, and establishing and maintaining positive relationships with key dealership personnel. You play a critical role in helping AHFC establish and maintain good relationships with our dealers and our customers. Interpersonal skills, financial acumen, decision-making skills, and a results-oriented approach are significant to your success in this position.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Negotiate acceptable terms for applications not systematically approved
Demonstrate professionalism with dealer communication
Demonstrate knowledge of credit policy strategies and district level tactics in alignment with regional goals
Review contract exceptions
Promote, educate, and provide support to dealers on new sales programs, company initiatives and system/process changes
Provide support to dealers and answer ad hoc requests
Research system alerts and provide validation or clearance to protect the customer or the company against fraudulent activity
Use knowledge of system to ensure correct documentation and coding of credit decisions, overrides, and alerts
Who are we seeking:
~ BA/BS degree required
~3 years of relevant experience
~ Captive/auto finance or banking experience preferred
~ Leadership, business analysis, process mapping and business communication including documentation and managing complex business requirements
~ Business analysis, process mapping and business communication including documenting business requirements, user acceptance testing and project coordination
~ Project management
Other Job Specific Skills:
Good quantitative and business acumen
Excellent time management and organizational ability
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Windows applications, with a strong emphasis in Excel
