Single ply membranes are flat roof membranes that are made from oil which is converted to flexible, highly durable polymers, which are then processed into large sheets and supplied either rolled or folded. These flat roof membranes may include internal reinforcement and/or a fleece backing on the underside depending on the type and method of installation. Single ply flat roof membranes are all in the range 1.1 – 2 mm in thickness and are laid in a single layer. In a flat roof where flat roof membrane is used, the waterproofing membrane layer is always supported by a structural roof deck.
SPRA offer high quality specialist training programmes for the single ply industry.
