A warm welcome this week to all SPRA members and readers of the SPRA Weekly News.
Firstly this week SPRA are pleased to announce that Anthony Hogan will join SPRA with responsibility for all matters technical, as our new Technical Expert, from 4th May 2021.
Anthony graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Architecture before working for Protan (UK) Limited becoming a champion of single-ply membranes. More recently Anthony has been working on the contracting side of the flat roofing industry as a Surveyor and Estimator for a national, industrial roofing and cladding contractor, in which he became familiar with a number of other manufacturers’ roofing systems. On joining SPRA Anthony comments “I am delighted to be joining SPRA as it such a highly respected organization, and I look forward to working with Ronan and the rest of the SPRA team as well as Martyn Holloway (SPRA Council Chair), Nigel Blacklock (Technical Committee Chair) and all members and industry bodies in my new role.
Ronan Brunton commented “We are delighted to welcome Anthony to the SPRA Team to enhance the technical support to our members as he brings the necessary balance of industry experience from a product manufacturer technical role and roofing contractor expertise. We wish Anthony every success in his new role”.
In other news this week we continue to highlight the possibilities available for industry training and information concerning the Fire Safety Bill as well as a call for Net Zero Champions as highlighted by Build UK in the last week.
In our Members Area this week we draw attention to a potential route in obtaining a CSCS card for field technicians and inspectors via the Institute of Roofing as a PQP a very important issue for SPRA manufacturer members.
Finally, we again remind our members to get your roofing projects in for the revamped SPRA Awards running on 16th June as a first ever virtual event and part of the SPRA Virtual Conference this year. Closing date for SPRA Award applications is 30th April.
We wish all well and hope you have a safe and productive week.
