It will soon be the end of another year. How did that happen? Today, the SPRA Council and the SPRA Executive will have met for several hours to look back at the last twelve months, to celebrate our successes, to analyse things that perhaps didn’t go to plan and to agree our strategy for the future. We will have said goodbye to a long standing Council member in Mike Crook, and welcomed our latest Council Member, Josh Lamprell from one of our newest member companies. As the voice of the single ply roofing, SPRA has achieved so much again this year. We have (and continue to be) key influencers in the post Grenfell Working Groups on Installers, Products and Marketing Integrity – the ultimate outcomes of which will be tighter controls within our industry to ensure safe buildings. We have had another successful and well-received national conference, and have already nearly completed the planning and programme for 2020, having secured some great speakers – so ensure you’veringmarked 24th June and booked your places!
We have created a full suite of short courses from our specialist apprenticeship programme, updated question sets for our online training programme, completed pilot manager training courses and kept the website up to date whilst a new website was commissioned in the background to make it as future-proof as possible. As usual, we ran a great Golf Day for members and perhaps most importantly, we’ve introduced new guidance on windload and pull-out testing as part of our commitment to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date specialist technical support for the single ply industry. I could go on, and these activities are all in addition to the day to day membership engagement, promotion, stakeholder collaboration, helpdesk enquiries, member audits, exhibitions and CPD seminars that the SPRA team undertake on behalf of members and the industry. If you are specialists in the single ply roofing sector why not join the SPRA community? And if you are already an enthusiastic SPRA member wanting to give something back to this industry, make a note that full elections for the SPRA Council will be taking place in early May. Go on, you know it’s worth it. Together we are making are making a real difference. Join us!
