Following the tragic events at Grenfell Tower, the CPA wishes to echo the words of colleagues across the construction industry in sending our condolences to all those who have been affected.
There is significant discussion between government and industry on what needs to be done in light of the event. This may require the CPA to set up a task group, but for the immediate future we will be engaging with our Technical Committee and stakeholders across our membership. This will be led by Peter Caplehorn, CPA Deputy Chief Executive and Policy Director.
There has been much public speculation about the cause and spread of the fire. At this period of time we will wait until factual evidence is established before commenting on the specifics. We would urge members to express similar caution if contacted by the media.
We would like to remind members that the CPA are here to support you in any way.
