The CPA has submitted its response to the government’s white paper, ‘Fixing our broken housing market’, which sets out proposals to reform the housing market and increase the supply of new homes. The CPA’s response focuses on areas including:

• Policy that can facilitate a ‘joined-up’ approach between central government and local authority planning
• Embedding ‘whole life values’ into government procurement decisions to ensure infrastructure projects are not just delivered on lowest cost, but also recognise the environment, economic and social impacts
• Policies for local planning authorities that support future resilience of communities and infrastructure to climate change
• Clarification on flood risk policy in the National Planning Policy Framework.
