Employing Young People On-SiteOn behalf of the Strategic Forum and with the support of the Construction Leadership Council, Build UK has published a Guide to Employing Young People on Site to encourage work experience and employment opportunities for young people interested in a career in construction.
The guide clearly explains what employers should expect from young people in terms of their behaviour and functional skills such as literacy and numeracy. It also sets out the appropriate level of supervision, insurance and safeguarding required together with a sample risk assessment which should lead to a positive and consistent approach to employing young people across the industry.
