Welcome again this week to all SPRA members and readers of the SPRA Weekly News.
The SPRA Autumn Series began earlier this week with a one hour Technical Panel Discussion hosted by Nigel Blacklock with the CPA (Peter Caplehorn) and BBA (Bill Hewlett). This was an excellent and very well attended session by SPRA members. Many thanks to our panellists and all who attended the event.
The Autumn Series continues next week with a joint SPRA/LRWA session on the CCPI and then on 2nd of December with a ‘Lunch and Learn’ session on sustainability by the SPRA Sustainability Group (SSG). It’s all freely available to join online, so see our information below and please ensure you and your colleagues register to book a place at this and the other series events. Only those registered will receive the invitation to join online.
Please note! If you are a member please ensure you have access to our dedicated ‘Members Area’ which has additional items of interest to those involved in all aspects of single ply roofing.
In our Members Area this week we are delighted to have insight from Andy Porter (Chair of the SPRA Council- Contractor Committee) on challenges facing the roofing industry in the last quarter of 2021.
Our Members Area covers training and assessment relating to SAP, SUP and OSAT and we encourage all wishing to develop their employees’ skills and qualifications in single ply roofing to contact SPRA. Please note we have some places available for participants on a new SAP 12 starting before the end of this year. Ensure you read our training webpage concerning the SAP programme for SPRA members, and contact training@spra.co.uk. Also we now have dates for the next SPRA Wind Loading Calculation Protocol (WLCP 5) sessions. So see below and register your interest.
We highlight again this week some documents for download from the various industry bodies. For members there is the opportunity to download the Autumn 2021 edition of the CPA Construction Industry Forecasts. And the CPA State of Trade Survey Q3. There is also the latest update from Prof. Nobel Francis on UK Economy and Construction.
There are additional important items this week including items on Industry Skills Reform and Industry Net Zero Initiatives and recent information on construction activity
As always, hope you find the enclosed interesting and informative.
We wish all well and have a safe and productive week.
