Introduction
Firstly, this week we are very pleased to confirm that the SPRA Awards held over from last year will run this year as a virtual event in the summer and will cover two years separately (projects completed in 2019 and also projects completed in 2020). Please read the enclosed item in this week’s SPRA Weekly News in the General Area.
SPRA training continues to be a key focus for members with some courses available to non-members also and highlighted as well.
The issue of face coverings in construction was discussed at a recent Build UK meeting and we enclose this week a reminder concerning their use from Build UK and the CLC.
This weeks SPRA Weekly News also highlights a number of items relating to issues following Brexit including various guidance from UK Government as reported by various industry bodies.
Two other items we would like to draw to your attention concern the launch of The Code for Construction Product Information as reported by the CPA and The Small Business Commissioner’s announcement of a number of changes to the Prompt Payment Code (PPC), as reported by Build UK.
Finally, we are delighted this week to have a ’View from the Council’, our monthly contribution from a SPRA Council member, given by the SPRA Chair, Martyn Holloway. Many thanks to Martyn for sharing his views this month, at the start of 2021.
We wish all well and hope you have a safe and productive week.
