Membership Categories and Fees

SPRA offers a range of membership categories:

Membership starts from the date of approval (following successful audit) and runs for 12 months. Invoices for membership are issued one month in advance of the renewal date.  Membership certificates are provided in digital format following annual membership invoice payment, and approval of entry/annual compliance audit.

PLEASE NOTE: As from January 1st 2020, the non-returnable membership entry audit fee of £250+VAT will no longer be refunded as part of the first year’s membership. There will also be some small increases to some membership fees. as stated below.

Categories & Fees

Affiliate

Affiliate Members shall consist of trade associations, insurance companies and other organisations in the roofing industry.  Annual membership fee is £1800 + VAT.

Affiliate Contractor

Open to specialist contractors installing non-membrane products that form part of single ply roofs. Annual membership fees are as follows:

Large Contractor (> £million turnover)

  • Single SPRA = £1000 + VAT
  • Discounted fee offered to NFRC members = £600 + VAT, increasing to £700+VAT from 1st Jan 2020  (Contact NFRC for their fee)

Small Contractor (< £million turnover)

  • Single SPRA  = £500 + VAT
  • Discounted fee offered to NFRC members = £400 + VAT increasing to £425+VAT from 1st Jan 2020(Contact NFRC for their fee),

Associate

Companies involved with design, testing and certification, marketing, factoring or manufacturing of ancillary products used in the installation of single ply membranes or roofing systems associated with these membranes. Annual membership fee is £1800 + VAT.

Contractor

Contractor installers of single ply membranes who can demonstrate a commitment to recognised training methods either nationally – NVQ, or by way of that provided by Manufacturer Members.

Please note that contractors must be registered with the CITB to be eligible for SPRA membership. Annual membership fees are as follows:

Large Contractor (> £million turnover)

  • Single SPRA  = £1000 + VAT
  • Discounted for existing NFRC members = £600 + VAT  (Increasing to £700+VAT from 1st Jan 2020. Please contact NFRC for their fee)

Small Contractor (< £million turnover)

  • Single SPRA  = £500 + VAT
  • Discounted for existing NFRC members = £425 + VAT  (Increasing to £425+VAT from 1st Jan 2020. Please contact NFRC for their fee)

Installer

Installers of single ply membranes working on a labour-only or self-employed basis who can demonstrate a commitment to recognised training methods either nationally – NVQ/SVQ, or by way of that provided by Manufacturer Members. Installers must achieve a Level 2 Single Ply Waterproofing Membrane vocational qualification within the first year of membership. Installers who do not achieve this qualification will not be allowed to continue their membership until the qualification has been achieved. 

This category was established to create a pool of skilled installers that are visible to other SPRA members only. The Installer benefits through visibility and direct contact by all SPRA members which includes SPRA Contractors and Membrane Approved Contractors via SPRA Membrane Membership. Existing members benefit by having access to a pool of quality installers when they need extra support on projects.

Although Installers are not publicly listed on the SPRA website, they are allowed to display the SPRA logo and have access to all membership benefits including discounts on training and SPRA Events.

Annual membership fees are as follows:

  • Sole trader = £80 + VAT

Membrane

Manufacturers of single ply membranes sold in the UK and elsewhere and factors of roofing systems based on any single ply membrane with a place of business in the UK.  The annual membership fee is £4500 + VAT.
