BIM – CPA seeking your input, deadline 26th Feb

cpa1BIM – CPA seeking your input, deadline 26th Feb

As the April 2016 deadline for Level 2 BIM for all HMG centrally funded projects gets closer, the BIM Task Group and CPA are progressing two key activities to support construction product manufacturers:

  • The first activity is to develop a documented process for the development of peer reviewed product data templates and a plain language dictionary. We will be reviewing these and asking for members’ comments and contributions on these very shortly. This topic will also feature heavily in the forthcoming BIM4M2 meeting to be at the Building Centre on April 14th.
  • The second is a CPA-led report on what the construction product sector has achieved over the last four years and how going forward we can support delivery of the government’s construction strategy through innovation.

CPA are looking for examples of innovation and collaboration both recent and for the future, enabled by data. CPA are also looking for support in delivering the report in terms of economics experiences in adopting digital methodologies and expertise relating to potential innovations highlighted in the forthcoming definition document.
Please contact Steve Thompson or Peter Caplehorn at steve.thompson@pcsg.co.uk or peter.caplehorn@constructionproducts.org.uk respectively. Timescale is for completion and publication by end March, so please indicate your interest by 26 Feb.

…and a reminder from CPA:
