Circular Economy Standard Published – BS 8001:2017
This new standard, the first on the circular economy, sets out a framework for explaining the principles of the circular economy and how to implement circular economy thinking in organisations.
It is applicable to any sector or business and acts as guidance. It has no certification element. Further information and purchasing details are available on the BSI website. Construction materials and products, unlike many retail products, need to be considered at the building level in terms of future reuse. To access the strands of work going on in construction that contribute to the circular economy see CPA/BRE’s Knowledge Resource document.
