Opening the Commercial Water Market in 2017

Dear CPA members,

We are delighted to bring to the attention of Construction Products Association members our new guidance on the possible future changes to your water and waste water supply created by the opening up of the water retail market for non-household customers from April 2017.

Leave Your Comments

The guidance is intended to provide you with an independent view of the risks and opportunities presented by this change in the system, preparing CPA members to maximise opportunities, especially in the areas of metering and meter reading, surface water management, trade effluent discharge and establishment of new connections to water mains or waste water network. The Water Act 2014 enabled the creation of this future new water and waste water market, similar to the one already operating in Scotland, which will allow all non-household customers in England to choose their supplier for water and waste water services from April 2017. The Act does not apply to customers operating wholly or mainly in Wales.

The guidance report can be found on the new CPA website here.
