The Status of “Retained EU Law”

To avoid a legal vacuum arising when the UK leaves the EU, on the day of exit, existing EU law will be transposed into a new freestanding body of UK domestic law to be known as “retained EU law”. This forms part of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. The CPA has provided a brief summary for members of what this will mean in practice, the document can be found here, under the ‘other resources’ tab.
